Mobile Search is a hot area for monetization opportunity. This study, completed in August 2007, spans 80 usability interviews covering InfoSpace's WAP solution, JumpTap's Java client, Yahoo! Go, and Nuance's VoCon voice search.

This spring, ESPN launched a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) under Sprint offering heavily branded phones with specialized sports information. We interviewed six members of their target audience - heavy sports fans, with experience downloading media onto their mobile phone - to test the new service.

We conducted stakeholder interviews, focus groups, and an online survey throughout the U.S. in order to analyze product strategy, pricing, advertising, and existing consumption behaviors.

Media Download Usability

Our “Media Download Usability” informs carriers and manufacturers how to increase data revenue substantially. Our study comprises quantitative and qualitative findings from 260 usability tests of ten mobile telephone handsets available from five US carriers. We conducted 20 interviews on each handset in order to fully understand the challenges users experience in the download and install process for ring tones, wallpapers, and games.
